DreamHack Masters Format

DreamHack Masters has a relatively severe competitive format that gives every team two tournament lives during the Group Stage but only allows 3 out of 8 teams to qualify for the Playoffs.

The Group Stage

For this stage, the 16 teams are divided into 2 groups of 8. Each of these groups uses a double-elimination format. In the first round, the matches are Bo1. The remaining matches are Bo3. The top 3 teams qualify for the Playoffs. However, the winner of each group advances directly to the Semifinals, while the other 2 teams advance to the Quarterfinals.

The Playoffs

The Playoffs Stage of DreamHack Masters consists of 2 Quarterfinals, 2 Semifinals and a Grand Final. The last of these is a Bo5 match while the other 4 matches are Bo3.
